SCOTCHCOULTHARD FARM AND SELF-CATERING HOLIDAY COTTAGES 

 There  are many attractions in Northumberland and Cumbria with  a selection above to view. It is possible to be in Newcastle or Carlisle within an hour. Ullswater is our nearest lake and Blencathra can be climed and back home in a day!

We are situated near to the Roman Forts of Housesteads and Vindolanda with the other museums not too far away.

We are in The Northumberland National Park at the edge of Wark forest which stretches into Kielder forest. It is possible to drive through the forest to Kielder Water but 4x4s are advised!

The beaches in Northumberland are worth visiting as are the many castles.

For the city life The Quayside has many restaurants and a fantastic view if the bridges. The Baltic often has very interesting art work on show.

Within our nearest area of forest there is an opportunity to go deer stalking or watching.

There are many golf courses around with Haltwhistle Golf Club at Greenhead only 20 mins away.

There is pony trekking at Sinderhope near Allendale. If you wanted to bring a horse that is fine as long it can stay out in one of our fields.

Matfen Hall along The Military Road has a Go-Ape for the more adventurous.
