All the cottages have extensive views and have doors opening onto the lawns. The grassed area at the back of Acorn, Hawthorn and The Byre has space for ball games and is edged by trees.

We welcome dogs as long as they are well behaved and get on with our dogs who will be sure to greet you on arrival. At the moment we have three labradors:- Jan who has been here since we moved and enjoys coming to visit so watch out for her knocking at your door younger and are both black labs, Meg and Heidi.

We also have facilities for visiting horses and have had a cat and guinea pig to stay.

The Facilities

All the cottages are fully equipped for day to day living. All except Hope Sike and Acorn have a dishwasher and washing machine. We provide the necessary powders. There is access to another washing machine and tumble dryer in the Laundry Room.

Other facilities in each cottage include:-

Fridge freezer, colour television with digital box,DVD and video players, radio, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and microwave. Cots and high chairs are available and can be used in any of the cottages.

Our prices are inclusive of linen, towels (both normal and swimming), all fuels, cleaning materials and other kitchen essentials as well as use of the swimming pool.

Our water is spring fed so is fresh and natural. However in a hot summer the spring runs slowly (it has never yet dried up) and we do ask our guests to conserve water. Each cottage has a holding tank and even if this is empty within an hour or two water runs normally again.


Swimming Pool and Games Room

There is a large indoor heated swimming pool for your use situated behind the games/funtion room. At times in the winter the pool may be turned off for maintenance so it is advisable to ask for details.

The games room (originally designed as a function room) has a full size table tennis table, a variety of toys for the younger ones and table and chairs for the supervisors. For larger parties we are happy to dedicate this room to you for a special event. There are also books, cds and dvds for you to borrow.

All About Us

There are five self-catering holiday cottages:- Acorn, Hawthorn, The Byre, High Tipalt and Hope Sike. All the bedrooms are en-suite and all the beds are in a bedroom! There are open fires/stoves in all the cottages to give that warm welcome after a day out exploring.
